Some members have noticed bags that are covering the “fire hydrants” around the area and have expressed concerns. What appear to be fire hydrants are actually valves used for servicing the systems by the cooperative’s employees and were never intended for fire suppression. The use of these hydrant type valves by the fire service could actually cause catastrophic damage to the system. Over the next two years, these “hydrants” will be removed or replaced with a different type valve in order to prevent an inadvertent use for fire suppression.
